Nov. 20, 2006... NItd May Become a Monstar!!!

Nothing In the Dark is now currently playing on American Monstar, a low-budget/ameteur horror film search provided by the Monsters HD network which will spot light only the best (and maybe some of the worst) undiscovered and under appreciated horror talent across the country. Any horror fan can access the site and view a wide range of homemade and semi-pro horror short and rate the films from one eyeball (the worst) to five eyeballs (the best) and write short critiques of the work. The highest rate films may win a chance at some exposure on the network. According to their mission statement, Mosters HD created the site to give an opportunity to all low-budget horror film makers and... maybe... guide them toward producing their first commercial product for the masses...
For many who did not get the opportunity to see the film at a festivals or able to access it on Triggerstreet.com, this might be the chance to see a clean copy of NItD in its intended format. Apr. 4, 2006... NItD Takes Top Award at Horror Dance

Over last weekend, DeadPan Films was honored in receiving the Best Film of the Year Award for Nothing In the Dark. The award was not only a very special honor due to it being this company's first, but also because of the heavyweight competition of the other entries... all honored as such at other festivals. To be recognized out of such an elite pack of up-and-coming independent horror film makers is truly an honor and we would like to thank all those responsible in not only bestowing us the award, but giving us a chance in selecting the film for viewing as well. March 2, 2006... NItD Offical Selection at Horror Dance

Announced yesterday, Nothing In the Dark will be honored as an Offical Selection at the 2nd Annual Horror Dance produced by DeVil Films in Houston, TX. The festival celebrates everything independent horror and should be quite an event. No official date and time has yet been set, but stay tuned for further details as they come...

Feb. 28, 2006... DeadPan Gets Hacked!!!

DeadPan Films production of Nothing In the Dark received yet another favorable review from indie horror magazine The Hacker's Source. Published in Texas, THS promises to be the gateway to Independent Horror and, already on its 20th issue, is ever-growing with each new issue. The NITD review, written by Dave Dunwoody, will be featured on their upcoming 21st issue expected to hit the bookstands sometime this spring after Easter (no official date was provided). Jan. 24, 2006... DeadPan Plays TromaDance

Joining in the crusade of all which is Independant, Nothing In the Dark will be screened as part of the festival presented by the richly eccentric Troma Studios run by founder and president Lloyd Kaufman. The studio which gave birth to the Toxic Avenger, along with many other colorful and charmingly offensive characters, Troma and DeadPan would seem an unlike pair of opposites to join forces (our subtle chills compared to their over-the-top gore gags).
However, DeadPan is nonetheless honored to be joining in the festivites and having our film feautred as part of the show is humbling and flattering. Thank you... and we will keep on making the art!!!

November 19 2005... DeadPan Film's Attends the Cape NJ Film Festival

Excitement hung in the cold and salt sea air of Cape May as DeadPan Films embarked on its first attendance of an official screening of flagship film "Nothing In the Dark". Attending the screening included writer-director John Correll, Jr. and co-star Kimberly Kurus. Although the film had played in two other festivals, due to either schedualing or geographical problems, this screening of the film was the first time the filmmakers were able to see the fruits of their labor on the big screen with an audience present. It was definately a thrill of a life time that will most likely repeat itself in the coming months as more festivals are recognizing the potential of the film.
After the screening, which had the honor of opening the second half of the short films presentation, John Correll, Jr. was ask to take put of a short Q&A session; the second of two firsts for the aspiring student filmmaker...
